Taylor Swift: She never goes out of style

Taylor Swift

She is currently one of the most, if not the most popular and best-selling pop artists in recent times. Monthly searches for the name “Taylor Swift” are at an all time high of 16mill+ on Google alone. Add to that, there’s still more of her fans searching for  “Taylor Swift photos”, Taylor Swift fashion” ,  “Taylor Swift touring dates” and so on . So what does Taylor swift and domain names have in common? Well, She recently purchased somewhat two controversial extensions, TaylorSwift.porn and TaylorSwift.adult( Source CNN). It would come as a strange purchase for some of her adoring fans who are inspired by the 26 year old’s style, but for her marketing team, it was a very necessary purchase. Certainly a strategic investment.

Taylor stats

I don’t think anyone could imagine Taylor Swift getting into the adult industry but who knows? Stranger things have happened. Who knew Kanye West would announce his run for president in 2020? No one. This is a clever way of making sure she finishes what she started and no one taps into her brand. The domains were registered in November of 2015 and roughly 2500 was spent to secure the extensions before they even rolled out in June. In case you were notpayingattention.com, there’s a huge number of new domain extensions that have been introduced. I am sure you have seen the usual suspects .com .net .org .io but so many more new extensions have been popping out, like the first time you drop a roll of mentos into a bottle of soda. Kids don’t try this at home. Most of them tick all the boxes in the .sucks category. It does not end well if I am being .honest. ( That one doesn’t exist ) Anyway, it appears  #TeamTaylor is on top things, like literally, of her brand that is.

If Taylor is doing it, why isn’t everyone else? I mean small businesses and startups? Microsoft already secured their Office.porn and you still wondering how you can protect yours/business. Online presence is all that matters.  It sure promises to be a huge scramble for the new .sucks extensions.

About Lifanati

My name is Lifa Nati the founder and Editor-in-Chief of CheapSense.com. A website founded on the concept of buying well researched domains for a low price then selling for a profit, pretty much like real estate trading. I also review web products, subscription services and focus on price vs value. I am a former analyst with TD auto insurance division and complex property claims with the Co-operators insurance in BC, Canada. I am now a domain investor and part time consultant for an independent risk management adjusting firm. I have got to this stage of my life after going through a financial breakdown, losing my job and persistent bad spending habits. I went through a complete transformation after discovering the business of buying domains for a low price then selling for a profit. This led to the birth of the cheapsense website. I dive into saving tips and domain investing guides. Will be implementing free software for our users to take advantage of. They say things happen for a reason, my "why" is to serve.
